Clearing Your Yard This Fall Doesn't Have To Suck With An Electric Leaf Blower

The fall is a beautiful time of year when the colors of the trees are changing and the leaves start to fall. The beauty however dies somewhat when the leaves are all over your yard. The traditional method of raking is still possible but technological advancements have made things so much easier with the invention of the electric leaf blower.

Leaf blowers have been the topic of many controversial discussions due to emissions and noise pollution - it is for this reason that electric leaf blowers prove the better option. They are more environmentally friendly because they do not emit harmful gases and they are much quieter, therefore reducing noise pollution. The electric models are also easier to handle as they vibrate less than their gas filled counterparts. The fan is also driven by an electric motor so there is no need to mix messy fuel or refill the tank.

Electric leaf blowers are simply designed as a high speed fan surrounded by a protective covering and with a tube connected to the fan which is used to direct he flow of air and make sure that the leaves go in the direction you want them to go.

Electric blowers can either strictly perform the task of blowing, or you can invest in a blower/vacuum model which not only blows the leaves, but the vacuum feature allows for the leaves and debris to be collected in a separately attached bag.

Electric leaf blowers are handheld and are portable and easy to use but they can of course get heavy if your yard is larger than average and takes longer to clear. They are available in either chorded or rechargeable models and this choice depends completely on your size yard and the landscaping of it. The chorded models provide constant power as long as they are connected to an electrical outlet. This could prove a problem if you yard is large and you need to navigate around trees and shrubs. Your other option is a rechargeable model which will collect energy during the time it is plugged in and will retain a charge once unplugged allowing you to work freely without the hindrance of a chord. These models however are limited in their run time and are slightly less powerful than the chorded models.

Leaf blowers do not have to cost you a fortune and you can pick up and electric model for as little as $30. It is god however to think about investing slightly more on this tool so you can be sure that it will last you for more than one fall season. Remember too that due to the electric nature of it you will not be spending money on costly fuel refills or engine maintenance as you would if you went for the gas models.

Choices range between the powerful full sized blowers which can clear the lawn in no time to the cheaper, light weight power "sweepers" which are more suited to blowing leaves off hard surfaces such as patios and driveways or car-ports.

It is important to decipher your needs before you go out to purchase an electric leaf blower.
