A blower running on rechargeable batteries seems a more practical choice over the other, since there'd be no dangling cord. However, batteries have limited energy supply, so it's ideal only for small spaces and quick sessions.


But there are also those that run on gasoline. Earlier versions boast of 2-cycle engines. But since there's a need to minimize noise production and air pollution, the 4-cycle engine variety came into being. Leaf blowers that run on gasoline usually packs in more power. And it's ideal for huge garden spaces and other areas.


Important Matters


Perhaps nothing is as important to consider when purchasing a blower as its portability and your garden size. No one wants to shell out cash for something that fails to meet expectations. You don't want to be lugging around something super powerful cleaning your very small garden, do you?


If you're considering something that also functions as a vacuum, you need to take note of CFM. CFM (cubic feet per minute) is the gauge of vacuuming power. Blowers with vacuum features these days normally range from 350-600 CFM. Also, you might want to check on available speed settings. This is as it's not all the time you need to clean up a huge pile of leaves or debris.


Since a gas leaf blower produces larger noise than an electric one, you need to consider the noise rating.
